We drove out to Utah so that we could take Mara to EFY at the BYU campus, and of course while in Utah, we tried to see all of Keyan's brothers. It was a lot of driving, but it was good to see family again. Even though I don't spend a lot of time with Keyan's side of the family, I really do like them all.
On our way, we stopped for a break in Winter Park, Colorado. It was beautiful, but cold (I think everywhere is cold). The boys took advantage of the spacious lawn to play some ball, while the girls warmed their hands by the fire.
This city park was a lot of fun.......climbing wall to challenge the younger set.
We stopped at Jason and Lora's place on the way out to Provo. Of course that meant a trip out to the farm so we could be amazed at how hard Jason and Lora work.

Mara's only request for Utah was that we take a trip to Temple Square in Salt Lake. We stayed with some friends from medical school days, the Millers, and went with them to a Tabernacle Choir Broadcast and a leisurely walk around Temple Square and the Conference Center.
And then we left Mara at EFY........
while the rest of us went to Jared and Heather's place. We took Bowdy and Josie with us on a hike to Timpanogos Cave. It was a bit of a hike, but fortunately we had the other cousins around to prevent any whining and tantrums from Elyse.
We went back out to Jason and Lora's during the week for some more adventure on the farm. The kids loved not having to be buckled in....

loved drinking all the soda pop they could!
Keyan was just itching to go fly-fishing.......so we go........and he forgets some of his gear in the car. But rather than walk back to get it, he opted to just hang out and do what he could with what he had.
