Today was fun run day...and it was fun. The guys who run it are paid to be energetic and motivational, and they are! This year's theme was Leader Launch, and they spent the last 2 weeks learning about characteristics of good leaders...they are learners, active, uplifting, not bullies, courageous, and helpers. If I could get my kids to be those things, especially at home, what a different home environment we would have!
Here is Sam's look of determination....a trademark for Sam whenever he's doing something active!
We like to refer to same as "Dash" from "The Incredibles." He looks just like him!
The final tally........he ran more than allotted.....don't worry, we don't have to pay for all those extra laps!
Ben is waiting for his turn to run through the "tunnel" on his way out to the course. He was so excited to do this fun run. He was bugging me nightly about getting more pledges, and he was constantly on the computer watching videos on the Boosterthon website. Ben was a model participant.......did just what these guys were hoping he would do!
Ben amazes me with his running. By looking at him, you wouldn't think he would be a runner......but he really does go and keeps going! He is pretty motivated to get his laps or to get wherever he's running to! We also like to refer to Ben as "Dash" from "The Incredibles." Not because he looks like him, but because he takes tiny little steps that go so fast, his legs look like windmills turning at 100 mph!
Ben is getting the tally mark on his shirt as he goes through the "starting line."
This wasn't Ben's final tally.........just a shot of him right after he filled up his shirt.
Elyse enjoyed holding out this inflatable stick as the kid's ran by. They would hit it like they were giving each other a "high 5."
