Less than one week after the fire, we sent Mara off to Florida for about 2 1/2 weeks so she could go to Band Camp at FSU and hang out with her friends for a few days.
Rachel decided to go to camp, too, so different than the first year she went to camp and new NOBODY, she had 2 great friends, Rachel and Cari, to hang out with.
She got to hang out with some old friends at Lincoln Park.
She also got to go with the Young Women from the ward up to Georgia to go White Water Rafting.
So, while we were dealing with the aftermath of the fire, Mara was vacationing. I don't think she was able to really process through the fire because she was gone for so long while we dealt with the reality of the situation. I'm still not sure she has a good idea of what it was like to deal with all that. She is still removed from the situation, physically and mentally.
