Chicken Barbecue

Every year my dad cooks chicken for the Black Forest ward ''chicken barbecue."  I think he was the one who actually started the tradition about 28 years ago and he has cooked chicken every year since.  It is quite a process......he has these old gasoline barrels that he cuts in half and fills them up with charcoal........then puts chicken halves on iron grates.......bastes the chicken with special sauce.....turns the chicken over......and this basting and turning process goes on for about 2 hours.  It is a lot of work.........but the chicken is so tender, moist, and yummy.  We were lucky enough to be in Colorado this year for the barbecue....Ben and Sam were there helping Grandpa this year...they are covered up by the smoke in the picture below (look for their legs under the barrels).
Good job, Dad!
