Camping in Mueller State Park

Well, we can't spend time in Colorado without going camping.  This year we brought Grandma, Grandpa, and Cari along on our one night adventure!  We went up to Mueller State Park which has a view of the back side of Pike's Peak.  It was very nice and I really liked the bear boxes that they had at each campsite - it makes me feel so safe to know our food is protected from the bears....don't mind that we are sleeping in a fabric tent that could be ripped easily by a bear's claw!  Luckily, we didn't see a bear.  But, we did see a huge deer with a nice set of antlers that walked right through our campsite......that is always awesome to see!
Grandpa was imparting his knowledge of the forest to Ben.
We can't go camping without doing popcorn over the stove.  This was our predinner snack since we had to wait about an hour for our foil dinners to cook in the coals.
Don't you love the camping look?
