The Riley Ladies Excel!

Elyse had her year end gymnastics festival a few weeks ago.  She has been looking forward to this event for a long time, knowing that she was going to receive a "trophy" of some sort.

She did get a medal to wear around her neck, just like in the Olympics, but the best "trophy" was the gymnastics bear she was presented with!

Mara also had year end events at school.  At her band concert she got an award for participating in Football Band, All-County Band, auditioning for All-State Band, and having over 120 chair points.  It's quite a competition to see who can get the most chair points...that is what determines where they sit in band.  Mara had some competition in the flute section, but managed to hold on to her first chair position, thanks to Mom letting her stay after school to pass-off music almost daily!

An unrelated picture....our friends the Flake's stopped by on their way back from Disney and prior to their move to Germany.  We love the Flake's and will miss having them so close....I guess Germany will be a nice place to go visit!
