Fun Day at the Zoo

Ben, Sam, Elyse, and I had a really fun day at the zoo while Mara was slaving away at Band Camp.
We are so glad that this Grizzly Bear is behind a glass wall....and we definitely do not want to find one of these in our backyard!

Once again, Ben's fear of heights manifested itself in lots of places at this zoo............it is built on a mountain, so there's lots of altitude changes!

I loved this moose..........I just think it is an awesome sight.

We all tried our hands and feet at climbing the rock wall at the top of the chairlift.   Sam is a natural outdoorsman........

Ben didn't want to go on the chairlift with us, but he always seems to agree to these things at the last minute.  So, up we went, with Ben clutching the bar with all of his might!  All the way up, Ben said he wasn't riding back down, he would just walk down the mountain.  But, once we got off at the top, he agreed to ride down and then to ride up a second time.  The rest of the trips were composed of "take-offs" and "landings" by our future pilot, Ben.  I'm glad he conquered this fear, because ski season is right around the corner and we're going!

Ben is trying so hard to figure out what kind of a pet he wants to have when we get a house.  Today at the zoo, he decided a pet gorilla would be fun.....at some point, Ben has said he wanted to have a rabbit, a pigeon, a parrot, a hamster, a cat, or a mouse.  He obviously has some more research to do on this..........but the thing is, he really is researching these animals and what it would take to have one as a pet!
